Description: University of Mannheim, Chair of Electrical Engineering, Germany. In this paper, we discuss the use of Discrete Multi Tone (DMT) modulation in the context of industrial telecontrol applications. We highlight the specific requirements and characteristics of the telecontrol settings and present methods to cope with the environmental challenges posed. It turns out that DMT is ideally suited for the tasks at hand. Further enhances enable our proposed system to provide superior connection stability even under the most adverse conditions.
