Adventure

In fiction, the adventurer figure or Picaro may be regarded as a descendant of the knight-errant of Medieval romance. Like the knight, the adventurer roams through episodic encounters, usually involving wealth, romance, or fighting. Unlike the knight, the adventurer was a realistic figure, often lower class or otherwise impoverished, who is forced to make his way to fortune, often by deceit. Also, an adventurer is a roguish hero of low social class who lives by his or her wits in a corrupt society.

By: Fritz Dufour

Equlibrium : Collected Poetry of Linda Bohe, in Memoriam 1950-1983

By: Ms. Linda Ruth Bohe; Marc Lee Weber, Editor

From a military family, Linda Bohe grew up in various parts of the country. Her childhood was mostly in the South, her mid-teens to young adulthood in Colorado. She later resided in New York City, where many of her poems are set. Linda studied with Alan Dugan, William Matthews and Richard Hugo among others. Her terse syntax perhaps reminds one of Hugo, but with an eclectic bent. Her broad range of poetic taste was shown in the magazine, Attaboy, which she edit...

Detour I drive two thousand miles to leave you and find your shadow, spine whipped by wind, in snow-filled valleys where hills are hidden in white air and fields sleep. You will yourself into this landscape the way one can staunch the flow of blood or simulate death. My car window is a camera lens. I watch a train curve along tracks and into a tunnel. The moon spills across land so cold the cattle moan. My map is crumpled and I read it...

assignment : assignment4u, Volume 1: assignment4u

By: joe root; joe root

One of the most highly debated matter in education today is that if every individual is unique and have their own personal interests and abilities, then why do we force them down with the same syllabus and measure them on a certain criteria of writing what they memorized on a piece of paper? While this question has no easy solutions and consequently the existing system of evaluating students will probably remain the same in near future, there is however a narrow path tha...

1. Recreation The first and the most popular benefit that people know of extracurricular is that they are good for recreation. While this notion is correct to some extent, there is a lot left to be added. The world extracurricular envelops a vast number of activities (not related to the curriculum of students) including but not limited to painting, dancing, sports, music, pottery, among others. While the notion of recreation may apply to some of this activities like sp...

How to Kill God

By: Raven Kreetion; Siris Kane

Religion has misinterpreted God for its own financial gain. Willfully manipulating and detaching mankind from creation and nature for the sole purpose of keeping it under control. My book exposes that.

If the name of God is written on all things then how is killing the planet for profit not taking that name in vain?

Aaricia and the Noland Army

By: Richard Shekari

An epic tale of adventure that features Aaricia; a young woman having being betrayed by a loved one, lost her family and her home, must find a way to raise an elite army to help reclaim all she’s lost. Bestowed with a remarkable gift to communicate with a rare kind of beast, and armed with a handful of mercenaries, she must rise to face the most revered ruler in all the lands; the evil Queen, and swayer of the great kingdom of Azzodonia.

"You? A woman?!" Dirty Simo laughed. "You want to fight the great Azzodonian army?" He mocked the lady standing in front of him, who was dressed in a long, hooded cape. His belly, grotesquely obese, pushed forward as he almost choked on laughter before asking the next question. "Are you mad?" A teardrop formed in the corner of his eye, and saliva dribbled down his chin as he spoke. Dirty Simo's attire consisted of an old, torn doublet that was indicative of his lowly sta...

First Footnote : Thermonuclear Radiation Decoded, Volume 4

By: Ms. Rochelle A Laura; Tim Fleming, Illustrator

This is the story of a most remarkable entity: thermonuclear radiation. The process is the mass of the atom’s nucleus turned into radiative energy. Oddly, atom’s mysterious properties are alluded to in scripture; and for its powers primeval beings via for the prize while exploiting its work. Its' genesis is fundamental as it presently overshadows our existence for good...or evil! Antiquity reveals it is germane to life; also is instrumental in its' formation as...

CREATOR made thermonuclear light; without Himself and this light, was not any thing made that was made. This light or radiation is what the stars are formed by. In Genesis this process is mysteriously encrypted thru the term ‘star’ and ‘light.’ Creator then made a beautiful angel to take care of this powerful force; Genesis was to introduce the force and the troubled angel (and Savior from this dilemma) that is referred to in several other books of the Bible as well.

Would you not rather cover the truth with pretence in order to spare your feelings?
